Permaculture in the Land of Chocolate

My journey so far through central America has been full of serendipitous experiences. You know you are on the right path when beautiful connections just happen, when people come into your life without you having to find them. That has happened constantly on my journey so far and it happened when I got to Panajachel in Guatemala. Justin, a friend from London, put me in touch with Matt, a friend of his since his uni days. Matt invited me over that evening for wine and weed in front of a fire with some of his friends. I told Matt of my plans, something I am yet to write about but I will, and he told me that I would love to attend a permaculture design course on his land and project in Lanquín,...

My Galleries

I love exploring visual imagery. I love exploring different styles and techniques and media. Throughout my life I have painted in oils, acrylics, inks and watercolours. I have made installations, worked with etchings and screen printing, I have created video art and VJ'ed my creations at festivals. I have and continue to work with digital art applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fresco and Procreate. I create geometric and kaleidoscopic work with those digital packages. I love working digitally but my preference is painting on canvas. Below I have split up the galleries into separate mediums. Acrylic Paintings I love painting in acrylics on canvas. Sacred Geometry Most of my sacred geometry work has been created in...

Kaleidoscopic Image Making

Although I've been making kaleidoscopic images for many years now, it was only earlier this year that I started working with layers of kaleidoscopic images in Photoshop using the blending mode. That techniques gives you so many options to play with. There can be almost too many options so discernment is key to working quickly and efficiently. The last time I created a kaleidoscopic image was about 6 months ago. Today felt like a good day to get back into kaleidoscopic image making. It was only once I finished my piece did I realise that today was exactly two weeks since I left England for a new life starting in Oaxaca, Mexico. I've been doodling, usually whilst waiting for food in a cafe or restaurant, but I had not had the time, or...

A New Adventure Begins

I am now in Oaxaca, Mexico. It's been two weeks now and I am feeling really good about the decision I made back in the spring to get out of the UK. I have wanted to find somewhere else to live for a long time but I have not always been in a position to do so. Thankfully I now am and so I now find myself in Mexico. I'll stay here for at least 6 months, the length of my visa, but I may well apply for residency. That's something to think about in a while, but for now I want to tell you about my mission. My aim is to set up a village along the lines of Ubuntu Contributionism. This is a concept where people get together...

Reg Llama of Brixton

The story of Reg Llama of Brixton is a strange one indeed. Reg started life in a small town near Veracruz in Mexico. His original name is Reginald Antonio Santiago González and was the son of Francisco and Olwen González. Reg got his name from his grandfather Reginald Llywelyn, a coal miner from south Wales. Olwen grew up in south Wales but was abducted, sold to child traffickers and taken to Mexico when she was only 7 years of age. She managed to escape and was harboured and then adopted by a local family. Olwen never made it back to her native Wales. Reg grew up with a love of movies and football and went to film school in Mexico City. After graduating he got a job working for the...

Welcome to my new website

Hello and welcome to my website. Thank you for paying me a visit. I hope you like the work I have created. The oldest design I have on here, Orgone Particle, was first created in 1996 or 7. I can’t remember exactly when, as those days seem to blend into one long underground party when I try to recall. The design came after a night of face painting in one such party. I had been painting mostly dots on peoples faces which inspired me to design this piece the day after. It was originally fluorescent and it became my best seller. In those days I survived by selling t-shirts, and painting peoples faces in London’s underground party scene. It was a lot of fun. The new version is no longer fluorescent but it...
